Drug addiction is something that at least a few people go through in every family. Drug addiction is something that is quite common as well mainly because we live in a society that is harsh, that is hard to survive in, there are many reasons why people even opt for drug addiction. A person can get addicted to drugs simply by a few factors, these factors can be a death of a loved one, losing their job, losing status, losing an object that they associated their worth with, death of a pet, getting bullied etc. All these can become reasons for addiction. Many teenagers tend to go for drugs and get hooked on them because this is what is shown to them in different types of media. Luckily, there are different treatments available for different types of people having different levels of drug addiction. There is inpatient treatment, then there is outpatient treatment, and then there is intensive outpatient treatment. Opting for inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, or intensive austin outpatient rehab treatment, all of these will get you closer to becoming free of drug addiction.
The differences between all three drug addiction treatments are the following:
Inpatient treatment programs require the patient to move in to a rehab facility, but intensive outpatient treatment does not ask that from the patients. Inpatient treatment is administered to people who have severe type of drug addiction, who require the process of detoxification treatments or else it is too hard for them to recover. Usually the withdrawal symptoms of inpatient program treatments are very hard to tackle as compared to intensive outpatient treatment and outpatient treatment withdrawal symptoms. Intensive outpatient treatment does not go on for a long time, usually it lasts for 3 months, with 2-3 hours of daily treatment at a rehab facility for 3-5 days a week. Then the patient can come home and go about their normal routine. The same isn’t the case of inpatient treatment program, you stay at a facility for an indefinite period of time until your withdrawal symptoms are taken care of and there is some improvement seen. Intensive outpatient program can also administer alternative drugs to tackle withdrawal symptoms, but only unless it is necessary.
As compared to outpatient program, intensive austin outpatient rehab programs are somewhat similar, only slight differences are there. A patient in outpatient treatment can come to the facility for 1 hour daily, therefore, it is not intense, they also do not have the chance of getting medical management service done, which can help recover easily. Aside from these two differences, which are the difference in intensity of the treatment and the duration, along with a few services not being there, there aren’t much differences between these two treatments, but there are enough to change the results for the patients. Intensive outpatient treatment is more effective as compared to outpatient treatment and it is also more expensive too.
How does one know about which treatment to get? When does a patient gets intensive outpatient treatment?
There are simply 5 levels in checking which treatment one should get, they are the following:
- 5 level: This level offers services related to early intervention
- 1 level: This level offers services for outpatient program.
- 2 level: This level offers services for intensive outpatient program.
- 3 level: This level offers services for inpatient or residential program.
- 4 level: This level offers services for intensive inpatient program.
As you can see, if a patient gets a level 2 diagnosis, they will be administered intensive austin outpatient rehab treatment to cure their drug addiction.
